Bournemouth - Dorset County is a resort town that gives a visitor the opportunity to become immersed in the culture and fun of the town. When visiting Bournemouth there is so much to do for both single people and families, that you can easily spend more time there an expected.

For surfers, the artificial surf reef provides challenging waves throughout the year. People who wish to learn to surf will find that there are instructors and equipment available in Bournemouth to make your learning experience safe and enjoyable. The beach patrol has been trained for assisting in the surf and can provide assistance if needed at any time. Many avid surfers find that the ability to surf all year long makes Bournemouth the perfect holiday retreat.

The Oceanarium has over seventy five species of sea life. Interactive cameras have been installed on several of the exhibits so that you can zoom in on your favorite fish or turtle and get a close up look at them in their daily activities. The underwater tunnel allows you to see all of the sea life up close and contains several friendly green turtles that come right up to the tunnel glass to interact with you as you make your way through the tunnel.

There are over seven miles of sand that provides a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere for families and individual who take a holiday at Bournemouth. The pier at Bournemouth provides activities for kids, shops and restaurants that give unobstructed views of the entire coastline.

With over two thousand acres of parks and gardens you will easily find beauty throughout Bournemouth. The Bournemouth gardens date back to the'40s' and are divided into three sections. The one and a half mile path leading from lower gardens, near the sea are host to the upper gardens provide visitors with a beautiful contrast to the activities that take place throughout the year.

The gardens are famous for their floral bedding and foliage. They are also home to many rare species of wildlife. The lower gardens provide the backdrop for many of the activities and events that take place throughout the year. The central gardens meander through the central part of town. There are streams and brooks throughout the gardens that provide a more tranquil atmosphere for a person seeking respite from a busy life.

Among the many regular activities that you can plan on attending are the Annual Air Festival. Participants from all over the world attend the festival and you get an opportunity to see many flying stunts and acrobatics during the festival. There is also an Annual Literary Festival. Mary Shelley is buried in the nearby cemetery and Oscar Wilde taught at the nearby college. There have been many artists and writers who have made Bournemouth their home.

The Bournemouth Eye gives new visitors a chance to see the entire town and countryside from the air. The helium balloon rises over 300 feet in the air and gives you an opportunity to plan your vacation route easily.

The town offers an exciting and fun nightlife that is filled with music and dancing. The restaurants provide an international cuisine that suits any palate. You will find galleries, shops, and boutiques throughout the town that provide a wonderful assortment of unique items.
