Decorating A Boy's Room

By Forest Talbot

Whether he has outgrown the nursery or perhaps developed a very strong interest in a particular subject, the idea of re-decorating a boy's room can be as exciting as it is overwhelming. This is one of those decorating projects where you want strong individual input and you will not be too concerned over the impact on other family members or on visitors. This will be his room and his wishes concerning the dcor will be paramount.

The first thing you need to figure out when going to decorate your boys room is what kind of theme you want the room to be in. But remember that if your boy is old enough he should be able to pick a theme for the room. This is a great way to do a project as a family and to have your young one feel like they have accomplished something. Maybe the theme will be a favorite cartoon of his or even a movie whose characters he loves. Whatever it is make sure the theme is set before beginning the project.

If not, you may have to help him decide among a multitude of options. Whatever theme is selected, the marketplace stands ready to provide you with an impressive array of offerings that are theme related. Paint colors, bed coverings, wall coverings, rugs, lamps and bed lights, furniture, desks, etc. can all be themed and coordinated.

When you have figured out the theme you can now go and clear out the room and begin buying the new items. Not the bed of course, since your child will still be sleeping in the room but the other wall hangings from the old theme and all that. Remember if you can to include your child in this step too they may find a perfect picture that goes great with the theme.

How about a jungle theme you can get those walls and paint them in some nice greens or browns; adding in some borders that have jungle pictures on them or a bedspread that has some animals from the jungle on them. Don't forget to add a nice jungle themed rug to the room.

With a theme like sports, his walls can be covered in college and professional player posters, his lamp can be a football, his rug can be a gridiron.

You have too many themes that will be possible to do the boys room in, so you most likely will have several different ways that you can go about adding to the theme and decor of the room.

Something that will be unique would be to hire someone to paint on the walls of the room. Or maybe if your child is old enough they can make their own work of art. This will allow your child to express his creativeness and will create a room that will absolutely be one of a kind. Make sure that the bed covers you get go with the theme and the other colors in the room.

It will great fun planning such a themed room but it will be even greater fun to see the expression of joy on your son's face when he realizes that he is going to be living in a room that he helped to create, in a make-believe world that he chose.

A Refreshing Easter!

By Jacky Lee

You must be thinking of what you should do in your joyful Easter holiday and you must be in great holiday mood already, right? First wish you a very wonderful Easter! It has been a long time since we have a nice break during Christmas time (did I have any holiday after that? I forget, my life is in a mess), Easter is really a savior, at least for me it it, it saves me from my tension and stressful working days (from days which I sleep around 11:00pm, nice right? But I need to wake up at 3am for finishing my work!)! How nice is Easter holiday! But Easter should not holiday, huh?

Thousands of years ago, God made his son Jesus Christ come to the world as his representative in order to save us from our wrongful behavior. Through his death and rebirth, Jesus sacrificed for sweeping the evilness of our sins away. "Feliz Semana Santa" is a Spanish phrase meaning "Happy Week of the God". Even though people in Spain only have a holiday of three to four days, but they celebrate Easter for a whole week! (I think those who know how to prolong their holiday like the Spanish know well how to create ecstasy for themselves, right? Glad that they can feel happy even though their holiday is still, that short! So "feliz" they are!). But if I am not a follower of God, how does Easter relate close to me, except that it is a vacation period and that I can enjoy tasty Easter eggs?

When Jesus reborn, he bought for us rejoice, forgiveness and rebirth. Easter is a period that allows us to review our past and to forgive those who ill-treat us and those that we do not like. By these, we refresh ourselves.

Even for non-Christians, Easter brings us a peaceful feeling, love and harmony. It gives us good blessings. By doing self-reflection and forgiving those we dislike, we give ourselves chance to experience rebirth, psychologically and spiritually.

Every time we accept our mistakes and try to do better, we improve ourselves by a great deal; every time we accept our enemies and try to forget our hatred towards them, we feel relieved by a whole lot.

Easter is filled with love and blessings, no matter for Christians or non-Christians. What should we do to make this Easter a more lovely one?

We should share the blessings with our friends and relatives, by whatever methods you like, giving decorated Easter eggs, sending emails and very well-designed Pencake ecards to show our love towards our beloved ones.

So, in this happy Easter, enjoy your Life, and after that, be a brand new you and go on with your fruitful life without hatred. Best wishes to you my friend!

Making Your Golf Swing Great

By Mitch Durkin

It is possible that you aren't developing the right skills. Maybe it isn't your technique that is the problem, but rather the mental aspect of golf. Give me a chancea wise man once said "To be something you've never been, you're going to have to do things you've never done." Maybe it's time to look at some other aspect of your game to improve to create a better game.

Let me ask a few pointed questions:

1) What is your pre-shot routine? Do you have one? 2) What part does ego play in your game? 3) Are you working on balance before swinging?

These may sound a little off topic, but hear me out. It's a fact that professional golfers all have pre-shot routines to follow. They have spent time developing some type of ritual that allows them to be peaceful and relaxed before they shoot. What is yours? Have you found it? Take a look at some routines and see if they work for you.

Also, ego can play a big part in your game. If you're more worried about looking bad to the people you're playing with, you may be hampering your own game. It's important to give yourself a chance at nonjudgmental play. Look at it this way: when you're practicing, you somehow let go of the pressure to perform and just enjoy the moment. That's the state you want to get to when playing a game.

Finally, is your shot balanced? When you're swinging, you should be able to pick your right foot up, if you're shooting righty. Try it out and see if you can. If you can't then you aren't balanced. Your weight should be totally on your left foot, to the point of being able to lift up your right foot off the ground. If it isn't, then you aren't balancing right.

Keep your pet safe in hot weather

By Cheryl L. True

Dogs, like people, feel the heat so it is their human companion's job to ensure that they are safe and comfortable in any extreme weather. Our pets are valued and loved members of the family for which we are responsible. If we live in a hot climate or during the summer months, we need to keep our pets safe from the heat. Here are some tips on how to do this.

Dogs, just like their human companions, can become sunburned which is uncomfortable for them and can lead to damaged skin or skin cancer. Use a sun block that is at least SPF 15 on their sun-sensitive areas such as ears and nose and dogs with short hair and exposed or fair skin. Apply this at least fifteen minutes or more before your pet goes outside, as this makes the sun block more effective.

This is extremely important during the high sun times, which are between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Speak to your vet if the sun block contains zinc oxide, as some experts feel you should not use this on dogs. If your pet does get sun burned, giving them an oatmeal bath or using aloe Vera products sometimes helps but always contact your veterinarian.

We have all read in the newspaper about pets left alone in a car during hot weather. People mistakenly believe that parking in the shade or leaving the windows down will prevent the inside of the car from heating up. Unfortunately, many people have learned too late that this is just not true. Never leave your pet in a parked car, as within minutes the inside temperature can reach over a hundred degrees, even in balmy weather. In an emergency only where you must leave your pet in the car for a few minutes you should:

Leave the car air conditioner running, make sure you can see your car so you know it is still running, put the emergency brake on, make sure the dog cannot reach the car controls, lock the doors but take an extra key with you and leave fresh, cool water out for the dog.

If you ever do see a dog or pet trapped inside a car on a hot day, immediately contact the local police, humane society and if in a shopping mall or store, the store or mall management.

Never let your dog out to play during the hottest times of day, which is usually between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Take them for walks or out to play in the early, cool hours of the morning or in the late evening. They can suffer overexertion or heat stroke, so exercise and heat do not go well together. Make sure there is always cool, fresh water available. If your dog is not afraid of you spraying them, carry a spray bottle full of water to use on the dogs paws or head if they get a little too warm.

Are you losing your pets to accidents? Do they wander and never return? Show them that you care. Keep your pets safe from harm with the petsafe wireless containment.
