Essentials about Home Air Conditioning Repairs

By Linda Suarez

Home air conditioning has become a basic pre-requisite in the modern lifestyle, especially in locations where temperatures are quite high in summers. But air conditioners need repairs from time to time, and this task can be quite frustrating, unless you know how air conditions really work.

It is also worth remembering that repair and maintenance of air conditioners is a process which continues throughout the course of life of this machine. In order to successfully continue this process, the main functions of air conditions must be studied carefully.

To start with, you need to learn that an air conditioner mainly consists of two parts, namely, evaporator and condenser. The evaporator is positioned inside the room in a cabinet, while the condenser is placed outside the room. Many air conditioner users opt to connect them to the air dispersion system. This implies that a common motor, duct work and blower is used for air circulation..

While all of us take for granted what an air conditioner does for us, if we dig deep there are many processes going within this magical machine. When you turn on an air conditioner, it sucks in all the hot air present in the hall or room and transports it to a furnace with the aid of return duct. Afterward this hot air is directed towards the cooling house with the help of evaporator coils located in the plenum.

Plenums are coils which help in air circulation and are highly important for the efficient functioning of an air conditioner. If ever you find that your air conditioner is not cooling the room properly, the prime suspect is a defective plenum, as it controls the circulation of air.

Doing some repairs to your air conditioning system yourself is not a bad idea, especially in case of minor faults in the machine. Tasks like cleaning of evaporator and other similar jobs can be done at home by air conditioner owners, but for more complex and technical breakdowns, it is best to call in an expert. Venturing into unknown territories in air condition repairs is an idea that can bring more harm than good.

An expert who knows your machine inside-out will be able to quickly identify the root of the problem with your air conditioner. If there is a minor defect then, he will repair it immediately; however, if the problem is a bigger one, he may suggest replacing a component or even the whole machine. Following an experts advice is always in the best interest of your family and your machine; therefore, after getting his opinion no second thoughts should pop up in your mind.

The Multicolor Angelfish : An In-Depth Guide On The Hardy Centropyge Multicolor

By Gabriela Desouyez

The Multicolor angelfish (Centropyge Multicolor) is a deep water angel that live at depths from 50 to 200+ feet in the wild. Probably named after the variety of colors present on its body. Its chest has a mix of orange, red and yellow while its body is white. Its tail is yellow while its anal and dorsal fins are blue. The multicolor angel's most striking feature is its crown, a small patch of neon blue and purple lines that is also found on very rare Centropyge Nahackyi.

Like the flame angelfish (Centropyge Loriculus), it is collected from the Marshall Islands, Cook Islands and Fiji, not Hawaii as is commonly thought.

Centropyge Multicolor tend to be pricey due to the fact that they're collected at deeper depths. They retail for about $120. Unlike most of its deep water brethren, the multicolor fare well in captivity. It is a very hardy fish once fully acclimated.

Swim bladder damage during collection is not uncommon. If they are brought up too fast their swim bladder will start to expand, collectors solve the problem by poking it with a needle. Severe damage to the swim bladder will occur if this procedure is done incorrectly. Signs of a damaged swim bladder include :-

* Inability to maintain a leveled buoyancy * Tilting left, right, up or down inexplicably

It has been my experience that this fish tends to turn into a bully once it has established its territory. Among all the dwarf angelfish i've kept, this angel along with the brazilian flameback angel have been the most aggressive marine angels i've ever had the pleasure to keep.

Smaller fishes will also get some harassment. Nothing too hostile, just quick, short chases to show them who's boss. You must give the rest of your fishes enough space.

Putting two multicolor angelfish together is not recommended. If you must have a pair, either buy a mated or buy a large one along with a small one and introduce them to the aquarium at the same time. Do not attempt this in aquariums smaller than 75 gallons.

The multicolor angelfish is considered a medium sized dwarf angelfish (Like the Coral Beauty Angelfish, Flame Angels). They normally come in at sizes ranging from 2.5 to 4 inches. They should be housed in a saltwater aquarium no less than 50 gallons, a 75 gallon or larger tank is ideal.

It needs plenty of live rock to seek refuge in due to the fact that they come from an environment with very dim lighting. It must be given time to acclimate to captive lighting intensities. However, once acclimated (as mentioned above) they seem fearless.

Angelfish from the genus centropyge are all grazers in the wild. Like surgeonfish, they scan the rock throughout the day for food. They feed on detritus, tiny crustaceans and a wide variety of algae.

A well balanced diet should be given in a saltwater aquarium. Foods from many food groups should be given for variety. They should never be fed a single type of food for too long. Although i've heard of hobbyists feeding them new life spectrum pellets for prolonged periods of time with no ill effects. They all looked very healthy in fact.

They should be fed a frozen food that has both meat and algae (Formula One, Formula Two), algae and nori sheets as well as a pellet from a reputable brand like New Life Spectrum.

A very good food for dwarf angels is the Pygmy Angel Formula, produced by Ocean Nutrition. Ingredients such as kelp, krill, squid, squid, vitamins and minerals and much more are used in this frozen food. The ingredients mentioned are all added prior to freezing. Unfortunately there is only one form of Pygmy Angel Formula, frozen cubes.

Gender Selection Pregnancy - Methods To Conceive A Girl Or Boy

By Olivia Campbell-Price

Most adults know how and today even children are being taught early how a baby is made. Some couples are even making the decision to opt for a gender selection pregnancy. This means that they choose the sex of their baby and in order to do this the basic biology you need to know is that the egg is always an "x" while the sperm can be both "x" and "y" and this is what determines the sex of your child. X=girl and y = boy!

In order to influence which sperm get to fertilize the egg, a few different factors come into play. These can be determined by the sex position, the time of ovulation, the acid or Ph status of the vagina, and some people say even the foods you eat can help.

One of the most important factors to consider is the ovulation cycle and this is simple to do in a woman who has a regular menstruation cycle. There is research to support the theory that certain times immediately before or after the release of an egg will determine its gender.

There is a great deal of information available on what techniques can be used to influence the gender of your child. Try not to get too clinical, especially if it is your first child, it generally takes about 3 - 6 months to get pregnant, but if it has been longer than 12 months, it is best to consult with an OB/Gyn. He can also more than likely provide you with some good strategies for you become pregnant and even gender selection pregnancy ideas.

Many couples want a balanced family, usually both a girl and a boy. It is an expensive business raising a child today and there are not many families who can manage more than two kids and thus want to have one of each gender if at all possible.

You are more than likely aware that gender selection is a hot button topic for many people. Because it is, old wives tales are being rehashed and scientific methods are constantly being developed. Listening to your grandmother as opposed to your OB/Gyn, will probably not get you very far in terms of gender selection, but you never know you might get lucky. Sleeping with a blue bootee under your pillow is a very sweet concept if you want to conceive a boy, but it is highly unlikely to influence the sperm that is busy swimming upstream.

There are some very clinical IVF and IUI methods being used that are extremely accurate and some couples are opting to take the scientific route. But bear in mind even though these methods can guarantee 100% success, both In Vitro Fertilization and Inter Uterine Insemination are clinical and invasive to a degree. In certain countries, embryonic testing and selection is illegal if undertaken solely for purposes of gender selection.

Spend Money Making Memories, Find Cairo Cheap Hotels

By Richard Wright

Cairo, or ancient Egypt, is a wonderful place to explore, and it's important that you understand why you want to find Cairo cheap hotels for your stay there.

You can spend a lot of money on five-star resorts, but when it comes to exploring Cairo, do you want to spend time in the resort, or do you want to explore ancient Egypt and all that culture has to offer.

When you're visiting Cairo, Egypt, you're not far from the Great Sphinx, the cultural bazaars and of course the pyramids. You'll want to spend time seeing some of the oldest artifacts in the world, and there's even an Old Cairo to explore.

You'll also want to spend time looking at the Egyptian Museum, known to have more than 130, 000 different ancient artifacts, also, the Khan el-Khalili which is an ancient shopping area, and then there are markets known as suqs which are very traditional Arabic bazaars.

As you can see, it's quite possible that what you don't want to do is spend of your money on lodgings while you're visiting the great city of Cairo. Don't allow yourself to miss out on those little things that make a vacation extra special, such as shopping, eating at cultural caf?s, and if possibly eating out at a very expensive cultural Arabic restaurant.

Remember, memories are made not on accommodations, but on what you do and who you spend your time with. Look for Internet deals on lodging and accommodations in Cairo Egypt. It's not hard to find those budget hotels, the ones that offer awesome discounts, or perhaps, last-minute deals that are always discounted.

Use your Internet connection and look for inexpensive or cheap Cairo accommodations so that you can spend your money elsewhere while in Egypt.

Car Maintenance Basics For Everyone

By Ross Everett

Car maintenance is not an option. Even if you know nothing about how a car works or have no mechanical aptitude whatsoever, there's a few simple steps you can take to keep your car running in top form. This simple maintenance will save you time and money, as well as making for a safer, better performing vehicle.

--Wash your car often: While the exterior of your car isn't as important as what's under the hood it's still necessary to take care of it. A clean car looks better, of course, but it also helps in a few practical areas. Keeping your windshield clean inside and out, obviously, is crucial for safety. Washing you car often keeps your headlights clean. And, of course, frequent washing helps prevent rust and corrosion extending the life of your vehicle.

--Wash the undercarriage of the car: This is particularly important if you live anywhere it snows. The salt, sand and chemicals that are used for ice and snow removal accumulate underneath your car and will rust out the body faster than anything else. Even in the coldest weather, its a good idea to wash your car at least once a week giving special attention to the wheel wells and undercarriage of your car.

--Clean your engine: Wash your engine, complete with soap and water, every time you wash your car. Not only will a clean engine run cooler, but washing it also cleans off crusty oil deposits, battery acid, and grime collected from the road. Let your engine run at idle to dry off before you start driving again. This is less of a problem with modern fuel injected cars, but still a good idea.

--Clean your air filter and change it often: Change your air filter every time you change your oil filter. Some might argue that changing it so often is 'overkill' but filters are so cheap why not err on the side of caution? In between filter changes its a good idea to give your filter a good spray with a compressed air hose and blow out the filter chamber at the same time. The clean air will help your car's engine run cooler and more efficiently.

--Check and change your oil: Before self serve gas became the norm in the US, every full service gas station would check your oil every time you filled up. Even if you're like most people and go the self serve route, you should still change your oil every time you buy gas. Change your oil often--every 3,000 to 5,000 miles--and don't forget to change your oil filter. If you don't want to tackle the job yourself, there's no shortage of drive through oil change businesses that will do the job for a reasonable fee. They'll usually take care of a number of other items on this list, such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels.

--Check and top off other fluids: Change your anti-freeze/coolant annually, and check the coolant reservoir anytime youre under the hood to make sure that its full. It's also a good time to look for cracks or other damage. Check the transmission, brake and power-steering fluids frequently, and top off when necessary. If your car is going through a lot of these hydraulic fluids it indicates a leak or other mechanical issue and needs to be looked at as soon as possible.

--Take good care of your tires: Check your air pressure levels with a tire gauge at least once a week, keeping them filled to manufacturer specified levels. Check the spare tire--if you have a 'real' tire as a spare make sure it's properly inflated, and even if you have a 'donut' temporary spare make sure it isn't damaged. Rotate your tires every few months or more frequently if you drive a lot of miles. This will insure even wear, and along with proper inflation will prevent countless problems as well as saving you time and money.

Emergency supplies: Obviously if you just drive cross town your emergency equipment needs will be different than someone who drives cross country in bad weather. You'll definitely want a flashlight and tire gauge. A set of jumper cables isn't a bad idea either, as is a few basic tools: slip joint and needle nose pliers, flat head and Phillips Screwdriver, adjustable wrench. If you travel through remote areas some emergency food like Cliff Bars are good to have, as is a blanket in case you have to sleep in your car. A cellphone charger--particularly one that doesn't require an external power supply--are also helpful. If you travel during the winter in snowy areas don't forget sand, salt, a small shovel and tire chains.

--Get an auto club membership: An auto club at a minimum should give you free towing, trip continuation insurance, lockout service, free maps, and some other bells and whistles. AAA is the best known, but there are countless others provided by credit card companies, cellphone providers, banks, etc. Shop around and find the best deal for the services you need. A growing number of car manufacturers also include lifetime roadside assistance, and not just luxury brands--Mini Cooper and Volkswagen offer new car buyers 24 hour roadside assistance free of charge. Also, ask about the size of their provider network. In a decent sized city you'll be fine but if you live or frequently travel in less populated areas you might want to stick to AAA or another major company. There's nothing more infuriating that learning that your auto club doesn't have providers in Mesquite, Nevada or Vernal, Utah.

These tips require any real mechanical skill, but will enhance your driving experience. You'll have a safer, better running vehicle that will be more dependable and cost you less money over the long haul.

The Denver Nuggets Will Contend in 2010

By David Placter

After acquiring Chauncey Billups, everything clicked for the Denver Nuggets. One of the strongest second half teams in the NBA made a remarkable playoff run, breezing past the Hornets and Mavericks during the first two series of the NBA playoffs. The Nuggets eventually met the Lakers, and put on a pretty respectable effort before bowing down to the would be champs.

Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony seemed to improve throughout the season (and the playoffs), as their chemistry on the court progressively grew. If not for two questionable inbounds passes in separate games during their series against the Lakers, the Nuggets easily could have changed the outcome of the series, and possibly could have beaten the Lakers.

If the Nuggets lineup were to stay as it is right now, I expect big things from the Nuggets.

Point guard- Chauncey Billups was the perfect addition to this Denver season. His experience and poise took the team to new heights.

Shooting guard- JR Smith was one of the best sixth men last year. I think should be moved up to starter at the SG position. He was putting on a show in the playoffs, which showed his true ability, and I was impressed.

Small forward- Carmelo Anthony's averages may have been down a bit, but he improves as a player with every season in my mind. His game is more well-rounded and he's more responsible on the court, meshing with his teammates for better results.

Power forward- When Kenyon Martin is healthy, he's undeniably one of the best defensive players in the league. The big if with Martin is his health, but when on, he brings this team to another level.

Center- Nene seems to be rebounding well off of his injury and if he plays the way he did in 08, averaging 14.6 points and 7.8 rebounds, he would be a needed big man on the Nuggets roster.

Other- Chris Anderson. Talk about a comeback season! With 2.5 blocks per game, Anderson was second best in the NBA, and he did this in just 20.6 minutes per game, off the bench. Anderson posted numbers that any team would be thrilled to have, and will continue to feed into Denver's success.

If the Denver Nuggets play the way they did in last year's playoffs, I can see only one team getting in their way - the Lakers. And if given this rematch, I look for the Nuggets to take their opportunity and get redemption from LA for the two blown inbound passes that may have very well cost them the series.

Feel Awesome about Making a Choice to Hire a Debt Mediation Service

By Frank Froggatt

One of the largest reasons that having a lot of debt is such a huge problem for most people, is that they don't try to do anything about the situation until it is really bad. People usually do this because of the stigma that they feel is associated with being in debt. Centuries ago, there was such a thing as "debtor's prison", which was a horrible place. The dread of it seems to have sunk into the collective unconsciousness. But there is no shame in being a client of debt reduction services.

You Are Not Alone

You're not alone in your situation, or the only person in the country who needs the help of a debt reduction service. It is mated by the Federal Reserve Board that at least 40% of all Americans are in debt in one way or another. Many people question these figures, believing that it is a lot higher than that. Some people, because of the stigma behind owing money, could actually lie on a survey or a questionnaire about what their financial condition really is.

You don't have to feel alone when you're trying to manage your huge financial mess. This is what debt reduction services are there for. If you hire a local company to help you with this, you're not going to be the only one in the waiting room waiting to talk to a counselor. It will probably be packed to the rafters with other people seeking to be clients of debt reduction services. Many of these services are low cost to no cost.

You Are Not Lacking in Morals

In our society, we tend to think that justice should be should be fair and show it by giving more money to good people and less money to bad. Take into consideration some celebrities like Donald Trump and Michael Jackson for instance. The truth is that they alone only know their true behavior, but looking at it from the outside a lot of times it seems really unfair that these people are so filthy rich, and you're looking at either filing bankruptcy or using the services of a debt reduction company.

The world really doesn't work in this way. Money is a force like fire - it goes to those who know how to use fire and to those who don't, it doesn't. There are no morality judgments about who money goes to. In history there has been some incredibly good people who didn't have any money like Mother Teresa, or Gandhi for example. These people didn't need or want any money, which was a good thing for them because they didn't have any. Instead of kicking yourself in the butt for getting into debt, take the time to congratulate yourself for taking action now towards getting yourself out of debt by using the services of a debt reduction company. I wish you well in your endeavors to get your debt under control.
