The Difference Between Chewing Bugs and Sucking Bugs In Your Gard

As many new gardeners quickly discover, there are two kinds of insects which you may find in your garden. The first are chewing insects that eat holes in the leaves of your plants. These pests include caterpillars, grasshoppers, beetles, snails, slugs, and earwigs. The second type is sucking insects that feed on your garden by pushing their mouths into the plant tissue and sucking out the juices. This type of insect includes aphids, scales, while flies, and mites.

You may assume that sucking insects are tiny (like aphids, for example) and chewing insects large (like caterpillars), but this is not always true. There are many examples of small chewing insects and large sucking bugs.

If you find leaves on your plants that are rolled and twisted out of their normal shape, you can expect to find caterpillars. Some species of caterpillar roll the leaves, and when you unroll the leaf you can expect to find a small green caterpillar inside. Some types of aphids also hide inside rolled leaves. If youre not sure if its an aphid, look for a soft, nearly transparent body, large abdomen, and six legs.

If the leaves of your plants develop transparent sections or trails, leaf miner has probably invaded your garden. This insect tunnels inside the leaves, just under the surface. If you hold a leaf to the light, youll be able to see the trails. On the other hand, if the trails are on the top of the leaf, you probably have slugs.

Depending on the type of insect, you may find bugs on the stems, on the flowers, on the leaves, or hiding underneath the leaves. Be sure to look over all parts of your plants carefully if you suspect insect or pests damage. Insects can hide from view, making it hard to figure out what is damaging your plants. Of course, if you want to make your houseplant healthy again, youll need to find the bugs and get rid of them.

There are many kinds of garden pests that attack your plant in different ways. Many of these are difficult to get rid of once you have them. If you want to get rid of pests like these, youll need to blast your plants with a heavy spray of water. They can hide in unexpected places on your plants, so use a very strong spray of water to get them all. For some bugs, including aphids, youll need to treat the plant with chemicals as well.

How To Fix Pastel Paintings The Right Way!...

What do we mean by fixing? Basically it is using different methods to try and preserve your paintings.

As to why we fix it is a personal thing. Some people are of the reasoning that maybe their colours may not appear fresh. Therefore not all artists like to fix. Artists differ on this subject with some only fixing at the end, others just fixing a certain segment as the work progresses.

Some people do not like to spray their painting, so there are alternative measures you can take. It is possible to use tissue or cellophane paper by the sheet. Then, if you have your painting on a flat board, cover it with this and press fairly hard. Any of the specks of paint will ingrain in your paper, but do not apply too much pressure or it could alter your texture.

However, it is also possible to fix your painting from the back of it. This eliminates the chance of you, in actual fact, over spraying it. This does not affect your surface. Your art stays in position, because it is damp from the spray which peters through. Some of the paper you buy is very absorbent, so this is a great aid to your fixing as you are not left with skin on pastels that have not settled.

I would never say that fixing is an easy task. You can use maybe a diffuser, which usually clog up. So the disadvantage being that you have to take a thin wire to them after use, so they are clean for your next usage. With these stand your distance, a good two feet away. Spray from this distance the outside first.

You will need a steady hand and spray backwards and forwards across your work slowly. Past the edges, but don't ever make a stop in the middle. The aim is to keep your arm moving, but you also only want a fine spray. It is horrible if the spray sticks somewhere and ends up dripping all the way down, most probably giving you nasty dark patches.

Next step, oh dear, you want to keep your colours fresh and fix it. How do I do this? You need to do this as you work, but before you lay your last colour paint layer or do any highlighting. This then should still stay fresh.

This is a good way to go about it as you do not have colour mixing problems with ones applied earlier and not be depressed by your colours looking dull. When this happens you think all that work ruined otherwise.

To get the best and freshest colour result leave the final colour layer unfixed. The choice is yours, but like I said it is never easy!

Here you have run upon my GI Joe throw back memory of Snake Eyes the ninja mute and all about his history. If you remember GI Joe, you remember Snake Eyes.

Snake Eyes was the silent ninja trained by the very best and finally recruited by the elite GI Joe commando organization. What an awesome action figure with an incredible history!

As a kid, I just bought the GI Joe Snake Eyes figure without knowing too much of his background story. The trip to the toy store was filled with excitement and anticipation, so by the time I arrived, the last thing I wanted to do was read his profile and learn the history of Snake Eyes, the mute ninja commando.

After weeks of combat with my new action figure, I, like every other kid would grow tired of playing with it. That's when I would dig out the profile card that I had tucked away in the back of my close, sit down and learn about the history of the figure.

Snake Eyes was a Vietnam Veteran. Now that is cool and the story that Larry Hama had created for this character was very cool and very in-depth. The story was all about the History of Snake Eyes and how he unfortunately had become a mute. I had to learn more.

The GI Joe comic line was the next step after acquiring the Snake Eyes action figure. I would go on to read more of Larry Hama's incredible stories of the many GI Joes and their universe. However, Snake Eyes the mute, was near and dear to me.

To this very day I still collect GI Joe action figures. I display Snake Eyes at the front of my growing collection. Trust me, its worth exploring the nostalgia of the GI Joe line especially if you owned and when you were young.

Bathroom Grout

I've been sick for the past few weeks. The cough and cold has been bothering me, as none of the traditional medicines seem to work. Then, we posited that perhaps it was the dirty area in the house. In theory, if you clean the area, the sickness will go away.

But here's the problem: I'm usually the guy in the house that does the cleaning, but at that moment, I was too sick to do it. So, in a rare act of family unity, they decided to clean the house for me. Well, mostly.

In less than a day, the whole house was clean. Well, almost. The bathroom was left untouched.

And as I didn't get better the next day, I decided that the best way to deal with it is to call someone who can do some cleaning for a change. I went online and looked for any; that's when I stumbled upon a group of grout cleaners in the area. I decided that they would fit the task, and I convinced my brother to clean all non-grout related mess in the bathroom.

After paying my brother ten dollars for the messy job, I had the grout cleaners come over. There was a brief discussion on the cost, and then the cleaning began. And I'll admit; their work was pretty impressive.

The grout cleaners have done what I could never do even at full health; they were able to clean both bathrooms so well, it looks as if the tiles have just been applied onto the floor. It's well worth the cost of calling them up, and I will make sure to do it again in the future.

Oh, and I'm happy to report that i began to feel better the next day.

Every parent knows just how frustrating it can be traveling with the family. The children constantly ask when you will be arriving and tensions really can mount up. So if your children and babies are old enough, play games with them.

Travel games such as 'eye spy' are excellent and they can really keep everyone entertained for at least half an hour to an hour. The alphabet game is also a good one to try where you start with the letter 'A' and give a topic for the game. For example, the topic could be 'cartoon characters' or 'movies'. You then start with the letter 'A' and one person starts by giving a cartoon character for example, starting with the letter A. If they get one then it moves to the next person and so on. If you cannot think of one but someone else can then you lose that round. When nobody else can think of any more A's you simply move on to B's and so on until you reach the end of the alphabet. This game can take hours to play.

Failing that you can always give the children different toys to play with. Coloring books come in handy as do portable DVD players for older and younger children. Ipods are excellent for older children and they can listen to their favorite music for hours.

Overall remember to not drive for more than eight hours a day. You need breaks if you are driving with the children and for your own safety you should take breaks every 2-4 hours. This will help to ensure that you stay awake and that you feel refreshed and ready to carry on. Traveling with the children really doesn't have to be a nightmare just as long as you give them plenty of things to do.

Is The Miniature Pinscher The Right Dog For Your Family?

What's the first thing you think of when you hear about the Miniature Pinscher? Many think he's a miniature Doberman. Others think he's simply yappy and tends to bite. Owners of this breed can tell you none of that is true.

In actuality, the Min Pin is fun loving, loyal and intelligent. He's earned his nickname as the King of the Toys.

So let's talk about some of the traits of this breed. Min Pins definitely have an attitude. Although they only weigh 8-12 pounds they certainly have the mentality of a much bigger dog. This breed is courageous well beyond its size. Just look at his high stepping gait and see how he holds his head high. You can't help but notice how proud this dog seems.

And when you have a dog that is so proud, loyal and courageous you have an excellent watchdog. But you also have a dog that can at times be a handful.

That's why it's so important for a Min Pin owner to make sure the dog knows early on who is in charge. The Miniature Pinscher will think he is until he realizes otherwise. And because he's so cute and comical, you may be tempted to let him get away with the occasional bad behavior. Do this and your dog will become a tyrant, running your home the way he sees fit. But don't let this tendency bother you because Min Pins are very intelligent and easy to train.

But the good news is that if you don't have the energy to keep up, their size means they can get all the exercise they need just running around your apartment or home. They love to play by themselves and if you're watching, they seem to perform more just for your enjoyment. You can't help but laugh.

This is just my personal opinion but a lot can happen over three years of not seeing each other. That bond that you had with her, may not be there once you are ready to file. Best to keep that bond strong with meetings every 6 months and at the least once a year. But ultimately that decision is up to you or both of you.

I miss the swimming pool in our back yard.

Don't get me wrong, the pool is technically still there. It just hasn't been used in a long time, as it kept on draining the water. So, without being used, it slowly became a storage place for some of our unused, but not to be discarded, things. At the very least, having a lot of stuff in there is better than what happened to my neighbor's pool; she just can't keep the skaters away.

Now we've recently raised a decent budget to finally renovate the swimming pool. As we went about it, we realized that we had a little leftover to upgrade the look around the pool as well. With that in mind, we went out in search of the right type of tiles for the job.

Unfortunately, looking around for tiles, we found out that our budget was not enough for the classier type of tiling. We didn't much like the cheaper types as the original tiles on the pool were still better. We took a vote, and then just decided to go home and lounge beside our newly renovated pool.

A friend of mine came over one day and had a chat beside the pool. He said something which interested me immensely. At the time, I didn't know but he suggested that I could add concrete tiling to the pool. The area surrounding is concrete to begin with; all that was left for me to do was find a contractor to work his magic on it.

Try thinking "reuse and recycle" as being better than "new and hyped up" repetitive buying. Reducing the amount of new things that we use, by reusing old items for their intended purposes, is a good way to make a improvement on our impact on this planet. We can also reuse old items for new and creative purposes. Recycling is a way of preventing the depletion of our natural resources and preventing the creation of toxic waste created by the manufacturing process. When your things have outlived their usefulness to you, try donating them. You'll be cleaning out your clutter and putting less waste into landfills and dumps.

Your health and the health of Mother Earth will improve if you walk more and drive less. Our dependence on oil has contributed to our air, soil, and water pollution crisis. And all of the exhaust from our cars, buses, trucks, and manufacturing processes have contributed to global warming.
